Families in the World of Spirit consist of many lifetimes of parents, siblings, husbands, wives, and children. This could be very confusing to a newly arrived soul and so to make for a smoother transition, new souls are reunited with loved ones who have crossed over from their most recent Earth family. Eventually, as souls are introduced to family members from past lives, they will come to realize just how connected we all are in Spirit!

I am often asked what happens when a person marries more than once because of death, abandonment, or divorce. First of all, divorce is not recognized in the Spirit World; it is a ‘man-made’ law and therefore does not apply to the Universal Laws & Principles. Does this mean that you are stuck with your ‘ex’ forever? Not necessarily.
A divorced couple is still spiritually attached to one another until they resolve their differences; in other words, the Karma they have created together. If they cannot balance their Karma in this lifetime, they will have to face up to it in the Afterlife or in a future lifetime. Hence, the importance of choosing a partner wisely, and when the marriage doesn’t work out, learn from the lessons and forgive the mistakes. This is important to your soul evolution!
Yes, there are ‘spiritual counselors’ to assist couples in the Spirit World. Spiritual Counselors are similar to our marriage counselors, only they specialize in reviewing past life relationships the couple has had together so that the Karma created between them can be resolved.
Similarly, a widow or widower who chooses to remarry may love both partners equally in this lifetime. In a relationship where children are involved, that spouse takes precedence. There are exceptions, of course, which are too complicated to go into here. And that is where the Spiritual Counselor can help.
Souls who remain on the astral plane appear similar to what they looked like in their earthly forms. On the spiritual planes, the soul takes on the appearance of the soul body, similar in shape to the physical body but existing of fine ethers. In their higher energy form, there is no differentiation in Spirit gender and no visible means of detecting whether a soul is male or female.
There will however be noticeable differences in the personality traits of souls as they tend to maintain the characteristics of their earth body/mind. I have noticed for example, that spirits communicate with the same humor, playfulness, curiosity, or compassion they had while in their physical form. Often, that’s how their loved ones recognize the communication as being genuine.
Every soul stores experiences as both males and females in former lives and some may exhibit a stronger tendency to traditional traits of either gender. On the spiritual planes, the soul body is devoid of sexual desire and incapable of having physical sex. Couples who reunite in the Spirit World can experience a pleasurable sensation similar to ‘Tantric Sex’ while Souls on the astral plane have been known to continue a physical, sexual relationship with Earth people, with or without their knowledge or permission!
Thanks to the Herbal Farmers who tend the bountiful harvests in the Spirit World, spirits continue to enjoy the nourishment they need. The perception of food differs from that of their earthly physical body, but souls still require a diet rich in solar energy, which comes directly from the sun. Souls on the astral level continue to crave the foods they enjoyed while in their physical body until they evolve spiritually.
You can see from this article that the World of Spirit exists not only in thought but is also one of feeling and intuition. This world of light is devoid of darkness because of its close proximity to the Sun. It functions on a higher frequency because of the advanced state of souls and this spirit of love can be seen and felt in every soul. Knowing that the World of Spirit exists and that life continues, there is nothing to fear in death.
You visit that Word in your dreams now – although you may not consciously recall the experience – to visit with loved ones in Spirit and sometimes to attend ‘night school’ in the Great Halls of Learning. Where do you think all those great ideas come from when you wake up inspired in the morning??
